Parma Sun Post
To the editor:
The first Daniel Schnoor Memorial Golf Outing Event was held on July 6 at the Ridgewood Golf Course. The weather was absolutely beautiful. The dinner, catered by Nak's of Brook Park was delicious. The event was a huge success thanks to the event coordinators Dave and Brenda Stakolich. The proceeds benefit the Daniel Schnoor Memorial Scholarship Fund.
We thank our family, friends, politicians and local business community for their generous donations and sponsorship. We extend a personal thank you to everyone who participated in the golf outing event. You made it a fun and successful day. Your support has provided resources that help make it possible for our local young men and women to achieve their educational goals. The recipients of these scholarships are appreciative, hard working, motivated students who are our community's future.
Our son Dan died unexpectedly Nov. 13, 2006. He was a freshman at Baldwin-Wallace College where he played football and was proud to be No. 55, a linebacker for the Yellow Jackets. He was a 2006 graduate of Parma Senior High School where he played basketball as well as football, a linebacker for the Parma Redmen, No. 85. Dan had hoped to become a teacher and a coach; he had a great deal of respect for them.
The Daniel Schnoor Memorial Scholarship fund provided the first scholarship this past May. The recipient, Daniel McWilliams is a 2007 graduate from Parma Senior High School. He was very honored and appreciative to have received Dan Schnoor's scholarship. He will be continuing his education at Marietta College this fall where he will also play football. We wish him great success in his future.
Thank you all for keeping the memory
of Dan and what he believed alive,
"No. 85 in your program, No. 1 in your hearts!"
